Let your coffee rest

The coffee should rest for minimum 21 days after roasting and be used within 4 months at the latest. The coffee reaches its maximum complexity within a certain period of time. In our experience we found that between 4-8 weeks the coffees are reaching their peak.

What is Omniroast?

Omnirost (or "omni-roast") is a roasting approach where coffee beans are roasted to a versatile light-medium level that works well across multiple brewing methods. Rather than optimizing for a single preparation style, omnirost aims to deliver balanced flavor that shines whether the coffee is brewed as espresso, pour-over, French press, or other methods.

About the producer / farm

Über den Produzenten / die Farm

Bantu Blossom Rwenzori

comes from the high-altitude Rwenzori region of Uganda, grown between 1,500 and 2,000 meters by around 200 smallholder farmers cultivating SL14 and SL28. The rich volcanic soil and ideal climate result in a vibrant, balanced cup.

Cherries are picked fully ripe, floated to remove defects, and sun-dried on raised beds at Agri Evolve’s Nyabirongo station. Careful processing and sorting ensure quality and consistency.

Agri Evolve supports farmers with training, tools, and community initiatives—improving coffee quality and livelihoods across the region.

About the varietal

Über die Sorte

SL14 + SL28

SL14 is a drought-resistant varietal developed in Kenya, now widely grown in Uganda. It produces a smooth, balanced cup with mild acidity and notes of chocolate, nuts, or soft fruits, depending on the region.

SL18 is a high-quality Kenyan varietal known for its complex flavors and disease resistance. Expect juicy acidity, full body, and vibrant notes like blackcurrant, citrus, and florals.

About the process

Über die Aufbereitung

Natural Process

The Natural (Dry) process for coffee involves drying whole cherries to let the beans absorb fruit flavors. Ripe cherries are handpicked and sorted, then spread out to dry in the sun for two to four weeks. During this time, they are turned regularly to ensure even drying and prevent mold. Once dried, the outer layers are removed, revealing the green beans inside. This method produces coffee with fruity, sweet notes and a fuller body. However, it requires careful management and is best suited for regions with dry climates.

Omniroast

About the roast

Omniroast

Most coffees are roasted with a single brewing method in mind — lighter for filter, darker for espresso. An Omniroast throws out that rulebook.

Each of our Omniroast coffees is developed to a single, carefully crafted profile that lets the coffee shine however you choose to brew it — whether that's a morning pour-over, a pulled espresso shot, or anything in between. The goal is balance: enough brightness and complexity to sing in a filter brew, enough body and sweetness to hold up as an espresso.

It's all about the coffee

At Sandbox, we embrace innovation and challenge the status quo. That’s why we don’t differentiate between espresso and filter roasts, and we use only light roasts to bring out the best in our coffee. We encourage you to explore and experiment with our coffees—whether you prefer filter, espresso, or flat white, make it your own. Be curious, enjoy the journey and let’s learn from each other!
